Tons of fun in ad:tech SF yesterday

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Meet up with Google, Microsoft, IAC, AT&T’s Yellowpages.com, and Verizon’s Superpages.com yesterday who are heavyweights in their respective online advertising space. After talking to the insiders and various product management teams, our views held consistent with our earlier predictions that each is trying to strike out a niche from their respective space. Although they are trying to make online advertising easier, it still has a long way to go for the avg small business person to understand the fundamentals.

On the start-up space, got to know some pretty interesting companies and their products. Bumped into a bunch of old friends who are either founders or co-founders of some of the more innovative start-ups. Overall, everyone seems to be having tons of fun and enjoying the show.

Google Maps will launch a feature called “My Maps” later tonight. Consumers will be able to build their own interactive maps using the typical driving directions, but also be able to add their own photos, videos, and placemarks along the way.

This will benefit all our customers who subscribe to the 2020 IYP (Internet Yellow Pages) service as more consumers use the Google Maps and therefore your ad will get more exposures.
